Punks to PTA moms and everything in between. We've been cutting, coloring, and screaming on Pike Street for 26 years — and we still mean it.
Scream opened in 1999 as Capitol Hill's first alternative salon — a place where you could walk in with a magazine clipping, a wild idea, or absolutely no plan at all and still leave with hair you actually wanted. Twenty-six years later, that's still the brief.
We sit a block off Pike, in the thick of one of Seattle's loudest, weirdest, most opinionated neighborhoods. The salon has shifted shape over the years — new chairs, new stylists, new playlists — but the room itself has never lost its volume. People keep coming back. Some of our clients have been with the same stylist for a decade plus.
Our values are straight forward: we are open minded, and we care about your wants and needs. That's the whole pitch. It works because the people in the chairs — and the people behind them — actually mean it.
"Get to know us — we're a pretty rad,
talented bunch."
Bring us the wild idea. Bring us the trim you've put off for six months. We don't have a house style we push on you — we have a chair, your reference photos, and a real conversation.
Every appointment starts with a real consultation. Your hair, your hairline, your lifestyle, your maintenance threshold. We work the look around you — not the other way around.
Punks to PTA moms and everything in between. Vivid color, mullets, dreadlocks, balayage, a perfectly weighted bob — same room, same crew, same care.
Nikki, Jordi, Jade, Meg, Nicole, Jaden, Curt, and Christian. Every one of them has their own thing — clipper styles, color, dreadlocks, mullets, balayage, butterfly layers. Find the right chair for what you want.
